The title of this seminar is “Introduction of technologies and statistics in the judiciary: The use of information and communication technologies in justice; media and justice”.

In particular, this session is focused on the relevant role that IT and New Technologies have acquired in order to improve efficiency of justice so as to guarantee an effective access to justice for citizens. In addition, the participants attending activities of the first phase of the project stressed the importance of dealing with the relationship between media and new technologies and justice in the daily work of the court.

In this respect, the different subtopics will enable us to carry out an in-depth analysis of several relevant aspects which are directly linked to the essential role that IT and mass media information nowadays play in bringing justice closer to citizens.

Through an in-depth and detailed discussion, we will know the current situation related to the topics under discussion, among others, “Influence of technologies and statistics for prosecutors’ offices and courts in the ENPI South countries. IT, workload and undue delays at courts; ”E-Justice and web portals: communication with citizens and professionals”; “Information right and justice administration: scope and limits. Protection of citizens and judicial professionals involved in the procedure”;  “Social Media (TV, Internet, Facebook, radio, etc) and Justice Administration: the judicial news”;  “Dealing with IT and statistics in EU countries: statistics elaboration, internal and external collection of data in the field of justice, database build-up, internal and external communication”; and “Judiciary institutions’ support in management and administration in the field of the Justice Administration: special reference to the techniques for the improvement of the circulation of legal materials and techniques for the measurement of the performance of justice administration”.  All of them being the main subtopics that will be object of the discussions.
